Dust pollution constitutes a serious threat to human health and the environment. Ash field of coal-fired power plant is an important source of dust. Using dust suppressants is an important method to prevent dust pollution in the ash field. In order to solve the problem of secondary flying-up of fly ash in the ash field of coal-fired power plants, CaCl_2 and Na_2SiO_3 have been used as the main raw material and several surfactants added, and several suppressants with different ratios have been made out. The water loss rate, wind resistance, compressive strength and infiltration rate have been experimented, and the best formula has been ascertained. Through spraying experiments, the dust suppressants has good water retention, moisture absorption and able to withstand strong wind erosion. It is an economical and practical dust suppressant and has good application prospects in the ash field of coal-fired power plant.
