Moving objects detection is one of the key techniques in intelligent video surveillance. A new moving objects detection algorithm is proposed in this paper, which combines improved local binary pattern (LBP) texture and hue information to describe background and adopts the idea of Gaussian mixture model that uses multiple modes to describe background model. In order to reduce matching complexity and reach real-time, many kinds of LBP are cut down. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm can remove effectively the effect of shadow, reaches real-time in common resolution videos and has better performance than other ones.
