Modeling of vertebral system by the nudged elastic band method

摘要

The paper is related to the investigation of scoliosis. To choose a proper way of surgical interference in severe cases, one should predict the future evolution of the spine. For this purpose, we suggest a mathematical model based on using of the nudged elastic band method (NEB) from phase transitions physics. An example of the method application to the model of three-vertebra system is considered.
