Preface of the '8th Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer - Numerical Fluids Symposium 2013'

This symposium series started in Crete, Greece, in 2006 chaired by Professor Pawel Kosinski of the University of Bergen, Norway. The symposium is associated with the annual edition of the International Conference of Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics (ICNAAM) since 2006. It represents one of the largest and most successful activities of ICNAAM with a strong commitment to research and development within the academic community. Since its start, the focus of the symposium is numerical mathematics for fluid flow problems and related topics. The symposium has always been attended by a large number of participants from different countries across the globe. It has also involved invited lectures given by renowned numerical fluids experts, who presented valuable material for both the symposium and ICNAAM. The aim is always to bring together scientists working on the symposium topics to give them a chance to discuss recent advances in their research areas, to provide the possibility for symposium and ICNAAM participants to exchange ideas and to enable future collaborations.
