PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER, STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR LEAD SERVICE LINE REPLACEMENT

Having standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lead service line replacement is an important element of utility distribution system operations practice. Such SOPs encompass key skills for distribution system operators that translate the state of the science on reducing customer's exposure to lead into practice in the field. The following paper provides an initial outline for general utility SOPs for lead service line replacement (LSLR). The contents of these SOPs will be developed with input from several utility volunteers.
