First demonstration of noise figure below 3 dB in CW pumped phase sensitive amplifier using PPLN waveguide

A noise figure below 3dB was obtained for the first time in a CW pumped PSA based on a PPLN waveguide. The 40Gbit/s-DPSK receiver sensitivity was improved by using the PSA as a preamplifier.
