Experimental studies have shown that mesenchymal stem cells can inhibit scar tissue, suppress apoptosis, stimulate resident stem cells, suppress inflammation, and both directly and indirectly reduce pain. Advances in stem cells knowledge coupled with clinical trials may have a profound impact in areas of cellular regeneration and organ transplantation in both humans and animals.
