摘要

Habilitation system in Fukuoka for pediatric cochlear implant (CI) depends on preexisting educational system for deaf children of which strategy varies. We aimed to improve children's language skills with maintaining a current system. Material and methods: Case 1) 7-year-old girl. Case 2) 4-year-old boy. Habilitation was performed at our institute for an hour, twice a month. Vocabulary, syntax, and communications skills were evaluated after and before intervention. Parents were simultaneously instructed during training. Results: Case 1) communications skills went up, however, vocabulary did not show significant change. Case 2) writing skill improved. Conclusions: Our strategy worked well so far. Improvement for instruction methods should be continued in order to spread the concept among facilities.
