Diversity of Natural Enemy Associated to Aphid's Artichoke in Different Areas of Production in Tunisia

The aphid's population monitoring, by trapping, in different areas of artichoke production in Tunisia (Utique, Bouficha and Chott Mariem) demonstrated the existence of five species namely: Aphis fabae (Scopoli), Aphis gossypii (Theobald), Brachycaudus cardui L., Capitophorus elaeagni (Del Guercio) and Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). A wide range of aphid's auxiliaries was also determined in the artichoke plots, represented principally by predators and parasitoids. Indeed, six species of aphidophagous Coccinellidae were caught in traps in the different regions: Coccinella algerica (Kovar), Coccinella undecimpunctata L., Hippodamia tredecimpunctata L., Hippodamia variegata, Psyllobora 22-punctata L. and Semiadalia undecimnotata (Schneid). In addition, six hoverflies genera (Syrphidae) were identified namely: Episyrphus, Eristalis, Metasyrphus, Platycheirus, Sphaerophoria and Syrphus. While, only one parasitoid's specie was determined: Lysiphlebus fabarum (Aphidiidae).
