The next renewable energy market in Germany will be solar heat for industrial applications in terms of process heat and municipal applications in terms of district heating systems. The value of electricity from combined heat and power combustion engines (CHP) supplying district heating systems is constantly decreasing in recent times. Subsequently it is essential to substitute heat from CHP engines by heat from solar thermal fields! The relevant markets are quite substantial because of there are hundreds of large district heating systems in operation in Germany and Europe which are suitable for optimization and hybridization with solar heat. Power to heat (P2H) applications, using surplus power of renewable energy like windpower and photovoltaic power in combination with regulatory needs can be involved additionally.
