摘要

The world year 6000 occurring during Dionysius' lifetime caused a calendrical Last Day providing the reason for his new Anno Domini calendar. Basing upon cosmological ideas as the “Great-Year-Conjunction” of all classical planets Anno Domini focused a future return of Christ. Forecasting a close massing of the planets of the Ptolemaic system in May, 2000 AD and the medieval value of precession, 666 years/10°, conflated with interpretation of Gospel and Revelation were reasons for the fictitious dating of Christ's incarnation.
