THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ISSUES SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP EMERGENCY PUBLIC INFORMATION SUBCOMMITTEE

This paper outlines the mission of the Emergency Management Issues Emergency Public (EPI) Information Subcommittee and highlights the Subcommittee's activities, objectives, and products. The Subcommittee develops job aids, guidelines for social media best practices guidelines and research, and topical papers related to public information and Joint Information Systems/Centers in support of its mission to promote and assist in sharing of information, expertise, and resources for the continual improvements of emergency public information throughout the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration complex. EPI activities provide parallel reach across emergency management disciplines and provide lessons learned and best practices relevant to EPI professionals.
