A series of Ca doped LaMnO_3(La_(1-x)Ca_xMnO_3; 0.10≤x≤0.50) was prepared using conventional solid-state reaction. IR spectroscopicanalysis was carried out for all samples. All investigated samples were ferromagnetic with the Curie temperature increasing with Cacontent. The experimentally calculated values of the effective magnetic moment agree well with those computed theoretically. Thelargest value of the magnetic susceptibility as well as magnetic moment was achieved at x=0.30 pointing to a typical ferromagneticcharacter. The hysteresis which appeared in the magnetization during heating and cooling runs for the sample with x=0.30 enhancesthe choice of the sample x=0.30 as the optimum Ca content.
