The consolidation of cracks in architectural glass and Dalle de Verre: First assessment of possible adhesives

The conservation of glass is a relative young issue with - generally evaluated - its roots in the 19th century, whereas oil painting conservation has already been practiced at the beginning of the 18th century. During the 20th century, the development of research in the field of conservation and restoration increased significantly. Research in both new conservation and application techniques as well as in historic methods was executed. Topics were mainly the glass applications of the 19th and earlier centuries. Since the beginning of 21st century, however, the interest in 20th century glass increased [1].
