Three rare earth complexes of (Eu(C_6H_(11)NO)_8, La_(0.6)Eu_(0.4)(C_6H_(11)NO)_6, Tb_(0.5)Eu_(0.5)(C_6H_(11)NO)_6(H_2O)) were synthesized by solid-state method. The as-prepared complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetry-differential thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DTG-DSC), infrared (IR) spectra and fluorescence spectra. The results showed that complexed were prepared by the rare earth ions directly bonded to oxygen atoms of caprolactam ligand and emitted a characteristic fluorescence of the Eu~(3+) or Tb~(3+) ions.
