Nano- and microparticles play an increasingly important role in the modification of thermoplastic polymers as well as thermosetting resins. Particulate fillers can affect for instance mechanical and thermal properties as well as fire behavior. Mechanisms behind these effects are often very complex and the resulting material properties are hard to be predicted precisely. We developed a series of novel nano- and microparticle types with the aim to improve the material properties of thermosetting resins for use e.g. in fibre-reinforced structural parts or coatings.
