Reactive Extrusion (REX) offers a flexible, cost effective way to modify and/or make polymers in small to moderate volumes Ideally suited to situations where dedicated equipment is not warranted, e.g. small volume or early in a project Flexibility to use equipment allows higher risk to be taken since equipment is still useful for "normal" extrusion operations Ideally suited to polymer melt reactions where mixing and discharging via conventional reactors would be impossible
