This paper regarded Xin Jiang(Bei jiang) saline soil as the research object, a better systemic analysis and studied to saline soil collapsibility was maken, a chief aim was that would provide some basis for designation and foundation treatment scheme. The uniaxial compression test was used in the paper, both single-track method and bilinear method were used to contrastive analysis in the test. Through analyzing the experimental results from the tests, the regularity and feature of collapsing deformation changes with the degree of saturation was summarized. A conclusion is drawn that coefficient and peak value of melt sinking are reduced with water content increscent no matter adopting anyway and types of saline soil, the peak value of sulfate saline soil it is 200Kpa,at the same time it too arrives at that sensitivity of saline soil is discrepant to water,that it is weak in the early and end of stages, but is strong intermediate stage. From the standpoint of test method conforming practice and accurate result, bilinear method is a better method than single-track method. By means of test result,some countermeasures were provided about sulfate saline soil collapsibility.
