Hydrological processes in mountains - knowledge gained in the Jalovecky Creek catchment, Slovakia

The paper presents an overview of 20 years of hydrological research in the Jalovecky Creek catchment in northern Slovakia. The objective of the research is to improve the knowledge of the hydrological cycle in the mountains. The paper presents selected results on the spatial distribution of precipitation, interception by the spruce forest, accumulation and melting of snow cover, hydrograph components, soil moisture and rainfall-runoff relationships.
