@@Coupling reaction of epoxide with carbon dioxide to make polycarbonate or cyclic carbonate have been attracted much attentions due to providing an environmentally pathway to transfer CO2 into useful organic compounds. Numerous catalytic systems have been developed for this transformation, as far as metal complex catalysts were considered,metal salen complexes (SalenMX), (M=Co, Cr, or Al) alone or in conjunction with Lewis base, onium salt, or ionic liquid as cocatalysts have been of significant interest,5a-e mainly dueto easy synthesis, good stability against moisture and air. In comparison with robust fruits achieved from SalenMX/cocatalyst binary catalytic systems for the copolymerization of PO and CO2, a few investigations were focused on the single metal salen complexes for the coupling reaction of PO and CO2.
