@@Polyactylonitrile (PAN) is a commercially important polymer for its versatile and good performance. The synthesis of controlled PAN is of great significance for industrial applications. Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) including reverse ATRP,1 activators regenerated by electron transfer ATRP (ARGET ATRP),2 nitroxide-mediated polymerization (NMP),3 and reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT),4 were successfully introduced to prepare well-defined PAN.
