Air cathodes are a porous electrode layer, used in numerous electrochemical applications that allow an electrochemical cell to utilize oxygen from air in an electrochemical reaction. Air cathodes are used in a number of applications, including metal-air batteries, fuel cells, and industrial electrolysis processes.
