Homogenisation of Discrete Media towards Micropolar Continua: A Computational Approach

摘要

The present article aims at linking particle dynamics to continuum mechanics by use of homogenisation techniques. By use of homogenisation strategies, it can be shown that particle dynamics corresponds to the micropolar Cosserat continuum rather than to the standard Cauchy one.
