In the past two years, polymer solar cell (PSC) technology has made significant progress, improving in efficiency from 6% to nearly 8%, while maintaining attractive economics due to the use of inexpensive soluble organic active materials coupled with ultra low-cost deposition technologies. However, further commercialization requires improvements in both device performance and processing.
