摘要

The short and medium term development strategy in Europe - and not only, focuses on Energy as the key issue, particularly on energy efficiency and renewable energy systems in the built environment. To implement these strategies, novel solutions are expected from R&D giving a better use to the on-site renewable energy potential. Certain candidates to implement the Energy Strategy are the solar energy conversion systems. Increasing the performance of the photovoltaic and solar-thermal convertors by harvesting a larger amount of solar radiation can be done by tracking systems. The paper presents a review of the mostly used tracking systems and comparatively analyses various solutions according to the type of the conversion systems, the input data and restrictions and the output properties. Relevant case studies were presented for tracking mechanisms developed and implemented in the R&D Center Renewable Energy systems and Recycling in the Transilvania University of Brasov.
