摘要

We have demonstrated the importance of stereospecific interligand interactions as a factor that could affect baseandsite-specific metal bonding to nucleic acid constituents, based on X-ray studies of the rationally designed metalcomplexes that could specifically recognize adenine or guanine bases among the five common bases. High-orderstructure-specific metal bonding to polynucleotides is also briefly discussed in terms of stereospecific interligandinteractions.
