CRT Currently 98% of waste stream volume semi automated disassembly. Education and training required in our recycling techniques to tackle LCD waste stream. LCD currently 2% of display waste stream and growing. Manual treatment produces pure waste stream but labour intensive. Automated treatment quicker but co-mingling of materials requires sorting. Both methods have environmental implications. Education in handling, transportation and treatment required upstream in waste hierarchy.
