In modern diagnostics and therapy in-situ measurements and in-situ drug delivery systems are beginning to play an ever more important role[1,2]. With the rapid development of micro systems technology and micro electronics smart electronic systems are emerging for the continuous surveillance of relevant parameters in body tissues and even for closed-loop systems with a sensor feedback to drug application systems. We propose a system concept for a closed loop system aimed at the in-situ monitoring and treatment of solid tumors. By continuously measuring the hypoxia status in the tumor environment the system detects tumor growth and can administer medication accordingly. Potential future applications include the post-surgery monitoring and therapy of brain and liver tumors.
