Environmental Impact Estimation of Construction Industry in China

摘要

Construction industry has contributed a lot to the economic development during 30 years of reform and opening up in China. Because construction industry is typically an energy-intensive and resou rce-intensive industry, environmental impact situations are necessary to be found, especially for the purpose of improving performance of construction industry in China. In this paper, based on the data of National Bureau of Statistics of China and National Development and Reform Commission, characteristics of construction industry production have been analyzed. Then, the problem of estimation of environmental impact of construction industry is mainly converted into the total C02 emissions during construction programme. Because of the dynamic nature of construction industry development and the specificity of sample data, leading to estimation of environmental impact difficulty, so a intelligent estimation model based on least squares support vector machines is presented to improve the prediction process. The proposed model takes advantage of LS-SVMs abdity to solve the problem with small samples and nonlinear regression. Furthermore, the proposed approach is shown more accurate for prediction in the case of real-word application.
