Drinking water contaminated with arsenic (As) is a serious public health issue, especially the countries in South Asia. The minerals dissolving from weathered rocks and soils, such as As, by which contaminates the drinking water (Dong et al., 2009). Significant As exposure mostly occurs through drinking As-contaminated water. Southwest of Taiwan is the hyper endemic area of black foot disease (BFD). The domestic dwellers ingested the As-contaminated well water for decades before the tap-water supply system was implemented in the early 1960s, but the artesian well water was not used as the cooking water until mid-1970s. In the South Asia region, the tap-water system is not well established in some developing countries, such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, etc. People ingest the As-contaminated water and confer the serious adverse health effects.
