摘要

Synergistic effects of vitamin C (VC), gallic acid and tannic acid (TA) were investigated on symptoms of CCl4-induced liver injury in male albino rats. The antioxidants were administered orally to the rats either singly or in combinations of 2 or 3. Administration of a binary mixture of VC + TA significantly decreased liver wt. in rats exposed to CCl4. VC + TA and VC + TA + GA significantly reduced alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase activities. Superoxide dismutase activity was decreased by single antioxidants, as well as all mixtures, but the reduction was greatest after ingestion of VC + TA; this combination also led to the greatest increase in catalase activity, as well as the highest glutathione transferase activity. Histopathological examination confirmed that VC, TA and GA exerted hepatoprotective effects.
