摘要

Assuming that the crying-wolf syndrome and the normalcy bias make a threshold, a cellular automaton model is presented to investigate the effect of noise-mediated risk perception for successful rapid evacuation. It is known that noise can enhance the detection and transmission of weak signals in certain nonlinear systems. Our results show that the effect of noise depends on system features, but the external noise added to the evacuation warning by a sender will be effective practically. And the internal noise of a receiver will be useful to make a robust system for evacuation. We expect that noise-mediated perception contributes to construct new communication systems to prevent the misunderstandings and express the information accurately from a new point of view.
