摘要

Efforts are made in the present paper to discuss the influence of stochastic damage evolution in concrete on the flexural-shear failure mode of reinforced concrete beams. Firstly,the randomness of concrete is described by the stochastic damage model in tension based on the sensitivity analysis of the present problem. What's more,the failure mode transformed shear span ratio (FMTS) is verified by the simulation of non-web RC beams based on the elastoplastic damage model. Finally the stochastic simulation is carried out for the RC beams at FMTS to calculate the failure probabilities corresponding to flexural and shear failure modes. The present work suggests that the interaction between randomness and nonlinearity could not only influence the bearing capacity but also alternate the failure modes of structures.
