An Overview of Automotive Side Door Impact Beam Development

摘要

This research focuses on the development of the automotive door impact beam (DIB) in the contemporary world, and introduces the structure and manufacturing process of three different types of DIBs, which are aluminum alloy DIBs, CFRP/AL Hybrid impact beams, and Ultra-high strength steel DIBs. Then propose six development requirements for Ultra-high strength steel DIBs and one global development strategy which is fit for same vehicles manufactured simultaneously across the world in multiple areas.
