Diesel Fuel Processing for PEMFC

摘要

Diesel is a favorable feed for small-scale electricity production on board of vehicles and ships as well as at remote locations lacking electricity and natural gas grids. If a low- temperature fuel cell is used, the diesel fuel needs to be reformed into very pure hydrogen. Together with partners, ECN is developing technology for fuel processing via diesel steam reforming (SR) and diesel autothermal reforming (ATR). This manuscript gives an overview of the current status and prospects of both research routes.
