摘要

As wind penetration into power systems increases, frequency support from wind plant is expected to contribute to power system frequency stability. Two different control approaches to enabling ‘synthetic’ inertial response are presented and compared in this work. The benefits of an improved inertial response approach are demonstrated in comparison with an ideal inertial response approach which exactly mimics the characteristics of synchronous machines. The impact of frequency support from wind plant on power system frequency stability is examined using a simplified power system model.
