By all indications the global lithium-ion battery industry is far from developing an electric energy storage component suitable in both energy and power that will satisfy the demands of strong hybrid, plug-in hybrid and especially battery electric vehicles. In this paper the hybridization of the electric energy storage system is explored in depth and offered as one means of circumventing the endless spiral of lithium-ion flavors that never seem quite able to satisfy vehicular energy storage needs for power and energy.
