This study explores the production and properties of nanofibrillar cellulose nitrate, based on commercially available brands of cellulose nitrate with various nitrogen.The structural characteristics of nanofibrillar cellulose nitrate were evaluated by electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.The results confirm that after homogenization occurs significant reduction in thickness of the fibers to a value of about 100-200hm.The homogenization has no significant effect on the molecular composition of the cellulose nitrate and the average molecular weight is reduced by about 20%.The character of thermal degradation of nanoscale CN and CN before homogenisation is similar.
