Focusing on BPNN model application and GIS spatial analysis, Hangzhou construction land geology environment suitability evaluation is studied in this article. BPNN model set up, evaluation indices system set up, samples selection, data process, etc., are studied deeply based on BPNN and GIS based quantitative and spatial analysis. For Hangzhou case, factors including topography features, engineering geology, hydrogeology, and geo-hazard have been evaluated quantitatively with BPNN model. Hangzhou construction land geo-environment suitability is divided into four grades. The grade □ zone is 10.76% of the total evaluation region, locates mainly in the central area of the total region, which has better engineering geology conditions and good development potentiality. The grade □ zone locates mainly in the plain area of main urban district, which has good geology conditions and stable bearing strata, suitable for multilayer construction use and urban expansion. The grade □ zone has complicated geological conditions and bearing situations. The grade □ zone locates mainly in hilly area, which has steep gradients and poor geology conditions, and not suitable for scaled construction. Research conclusion shows the BPNN model is suitable for Hangzhou case, which has little relationships with subjective factors for indices' weights, requires highly for sample selection and training. The Hangzhou case BPNN model, evaluation indices, GIS data process also can be used for related studies.
