摘要

The influence of activated carbon (AC) on the activity of TiO2 in toluene photooxidation was study in two photocatalytic consecutive runs. Results showed that surface pH of AC influence strongly on TiO2 photoactivity suggesting that toluene adsorbed on AC diffuse to TiO2 where suffers photooxidation. In conclusion, TiO2-AC was able to perform the photooxidation of toluene for at least two consecutive runs more efficiently than TiO2 alone and thus, combination of adsorption on AC and oxidative photocatalysis on TiO2 is a promising direction for removal of pollutant from air.
