An X-ray tube using CNT emitters has recently attracted much attention because the carbon nanotube (CNT)-based field emitter has a number of advantages such as low operating temperature, low power consumption, and narrow energy dispersion of electron beams. Besides, the triode structure with a gate electrode can be easily manufactured using CNT emitters, making it possible to operate the tube with digital addressing. In this study, we developed a simple technique to fabricate a CNT paste dot with a diameter of as small as 50 ?m. Then, a collimated high brightness electron beam (e-beam) was generated using the gate aperture, followed by high resolution X-ray imaging.
