Composite materials based on borides and carbides attract the attention of developers refractory and solid structural materials due to their unique combination of high- temperature oxidation resistance, hardness, wear resistance, electrical and thermal conductivity and others. One of the promising methods for obtaining composition materials is the method of self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS). Self- propagating high-temperature synthesis is a method for producing inorganic compounds by exothermic reactions. Since the process occurs at high temperatures, the method is ideally suited for the production of refractory materials with unusual properties. One of the problems in production of carbon containing composition systems is the use of different carbon additives which are able to substitute expensive carbon. Carbonized rice husk is a new and prospective source of raw materials for production carbon- containing composite materials.
