Reactive Interface-Assisted Co-assembly to Monodisperse Hollow Ordered Mesoporous Polymeric and Carbonaceous Nanospheres
Hollow micro/nanosphere structures are one of the most active areas in materials science subject. Currently, one of the challenges associated with the hollow spheres is how to integrate an ordered mesoporous structure into their shell. For example, to the best of our knowledge, there is no report about synthesizing highly uniform hollow polymeric nanospheres (HPNSs) with an ordered mesoporous shell structure, possibly because the self-assembly of the shell building blocks is very difficult to perform onto such a high curvature nanosurface of core templates. Therefore, it is believed that it is very difficult, if not impossible, to obtain monodisperse HPNS structures with a well-defined ordered mesoporous shell framework.
