Growing research interest has emerged concerning production of cost-effective agro-based adsorbents. Corn is one of the most widely planted crops in the world and Ukraine was fifth largest producer of corn in 2013 [1]. Since corn grains constitute about 15% of corn ear a large amount of corncob waste is generated. Rather abundant production and relatively low price make corncob attractive precursor for the ACs production.
