Carbon-carbon (C/C) composite is widely used as aircraft brakes due to the superior physicochemical properties such as light weight, good friction and wear properties, high toughness and thermal stability. Nevertheless, the only major weakness of C/C composite is its extreme oxygen sensitivity above approximately 500°C .The properties of C/C composite are degraded by oxidation, especially mechanical properties. Thus, a great deal studies on oxidation behavior of C/C composites have been carried out in order to make clear oxidation mechanisms and find out new method to protect the material, then broaden their applications as high temperature structural material in air environment.
