Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) are attractive energy conversion systems because SOFCs have higher efficiencies and result in lower pollution. In addition, SOFCs can utilize various hydrocarbons for fuel without an external reforming because O~(2-) are the mobile species transmitted through the electrolyte. Eq. 1 shows that methane fuel is directly transformed at the anode into hydrogen and carbon monoxide by internal reforming. However, carbon deposition is a critical problem of internal reforming, which causes degradation in cell performance and poor long term stability of conventional Ni anode support.
