As a new kind of energy storage device, electrical double layer capacitor (EDLC) has attracted more and more interest because of its high power density, high charge-discharge rate, high cycle efficiency and long cycle life [1]. The electrochemical performance of EDLC mainly depends on the electrode material. Porous carbon (PC), especially activated carbon, due to low cost, high specific surface area, availability and established production technologies, is frequently used for EDLC as the electrode material. A great interest has been focused on the preparation and modification of porous carbon for EDLC.
