Cool Comfort Technologies~(TM) ("CCT"), formerly known as 32-Degrees, Inc., has developed an innovative high-performance, cooling textile. This fabric is an engineered single-ply, multi-fiber fabric, both in woven and knit constructions. The fabric uses no chemicals to activate cooling. CCT uses no gels, crystals, or polymers to promote cooling. The patent-pending technology uses a variety of fibers and deniers along with a unique material architecture to create a series of high-density capillary networks. When activated by moisture (perspiration or water) this construction creates an environment that regulates the evaporation process and delivers to the user a prolonged cooling effect. The cooling fabric is lightweight, pliable and malleable to conform to any contour. It requires only tap water for activation and cooling is effective within minutes. The fabric is washable and reusable without loss of cooling performance. The ultimate benefit is regulating surface and core temperature when mechanical cooling is not available or impractical. The user can expect performance in the 55° F to 68° F range depending on ambient conditions. The product can also be frozen rapidly in 2 to 3 minutes for maximum cooling or therapeutic effect.
