Terahertz Pulsed Imaging as an Analytical Tool in the Coatings Industry

In this work we have shown that terahertz pulsed imaging has the capability to non-destructively and rapidly characterize the thickness and uniformity of coating layers on automobile bodies. This technique has also been used to demonstrate the unique ability of TPI to identify the presence and to investigate the origins of defects in multilayered painted car panels.
