This session represented a cross section of studies directed at defining clinically relevant antibodies in solid organ transplantation. Papers devoted to different isotypes (Warner, Stastny), different IgG subclasses (Cicciarelli), DSA vs non-DSA (Kaneku), immunogenicity (Arnold, Ling), natural antibodies (Nikaein), and new biomarker antibodies (Reed) were presented, as well as a presentation (Sullivan) on the limitations of the UNET CPRA system. Currently, there is no method that convincingly defines clinically relevant antibodies, although the data presented suggest that we may be making significant strides in understanding the characteristics of those antibodies.
